Free HIV and STI testing in Orlando: how it works at OIC Inspired
OIC Inspired offers free HIV and STI testing at 1707 N. Mills Ave. in Orlando. It is open to everyone, whether or not you are a patient. No insurance is needed and walk-ins are welcome. You get your HIV result during the same visit. Other results take 2 to 7 days.
Who can get tested
Anyone. You do not have to be a patient at OIC Inspired. You do not need to show proof of insurance, and there is no income cutoff or eligibility check.
You can walk in during clinic hours. If you would rather pick a time, call ahead. Either way works, and the testing costs nothing.
What we test for
The free testing covers HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and both hepatitis B and C. Women can also get a pregnancy test while they are here.
Oral and rectal swabs are part of the free walk-in testing too. Our team collects them.
How long results take
If you are testing for HIV, you will have your result the same visit. Everything else takes a bit longer, usually between 2 and 7 days.
Those results are delivered through the patient portal. If a result is positive, the clinic calls you to arrange follow-up.
Why get tested
Regular screening is recommended for all sexually active adults. Some STIs cause no symptoms, so a test is the only way to know. Early detection means prompt treatment and a lower risk of complications and of passing an infection on.
How often depends on your sexual activity and risk factors. Generally, once a year, or more often with multiple partners or unprotected sex.
Your privacy
Everything you share with us is confidential. We ask for your name when you come in. That is it for the free test.
If you also want to see a provider or use other services during the same visit, we may ask for your insurance information at that point. The testing itself stays free.
